Right after my graduation, I joined the rat race, started my
life as "running rat" in Kuala Lumpur.
My work life was simple, woke up
at the odd hours, started working from the odd hours and finished working at
the odd hours again. My body clock was unique from my peers. I did not have
much issues with squeezing in the crowd within the LRT, I do not need to face
serious traffic jams as what others do. My lifestyle was a lot different from
my friends & my colleagues in different departments, which was due to my
job were to stay in the “aquarium” (that’s how people called it) and to serve
the customer on 24x7 basis. What a boring life! Slowly, I was distanced from my
friends, I was getting more and more isolated from the community, and started
to fill up my surrounding with my own echo. OMG! How pity was that.
1 year and a half down the road, I
have decided to call it quit. I came across a job offer, which the first
criteria was “to work overseas”. Sounds like a great deal! I was longed to
leave the suffocating working environment in “aquarium”, especially when this
opportunity allowed me to stay overseas long term! Upon confirmation, i tendered
my resignation letter, counting down for the day to come, for me to leave KL
and the damned “aquarium”. What a relief!
During the 3 months of notice
period, i started to offload my stuffs in KL. Finding new tenant to take over
my room & my furniture, and had multiple yumcha sessions, saying goodbye
to my friends. On the last day in KL, I drove back to my hometown leaving my
car back to my family and prepare to fly 2 days later. I was grinning from ear
to ear, even in my dream, hahaha!
So the day finally came! I took
Thai Airways from the Penang International Airport, and began the adventurous
journey to Bangkok!
And my travel journey began!
